FACT: The big print, especially with dollar signs is always read, but it is the little print that skipped over.
1.) Not knowing your driving record (Part I)
Got Tickets? Car insurance companies will verify any and ALL traffic tickets/violations (not including parking tickets) going back to 5 years (7 years in California, New York or New Hampshire) when you are shopping or quoting car insurance online, not just 3 years. Your current auto insurance company will probably base your insurance premiums, in part, on your driving history of just the past three years.
Note also that any sort of drivers license suspension or dui dating back to the last 7 years may cause you not to receive any insurance quotes online or extremely high quotes because of the SR22.
